Carsington Water is just 100 metres walk from the cottage and the visitor’s centre is approximately 1 1/2 miles away with opportunities for water-sports, fishing, cycle hire and adventure playground making it an incredible holiday destination. The Miners Arms pub serves food and drink and is minutes away. The High Peak trail is a short walk up the nearby hills.
Wirksworth
Nearby Wirksworth is 2 miles away, it has:

Ashbourne
This market town is 20 minutes drive away.

- Access to the Tissington Trail an off road cycling trail.
- Home to the annual Shrove-Tide football match between the “Uppards and Downards” where hundreds of people participate to score in goals that are three miles apart.

- The Derwent Valley World Heritage Site, at Cromford is nearby and can be reached by cycle on the High Peak Trail.

- Tissington has duck ponds, tea rooms, candle shop and garden nursery and is next to the Tissington Trail which runs along the disused railway. The trail is a multi user route great for traffic free cycling and walking.
