Q: Can we come for a short break?
A: Yes, out of the school holidays this is possible, please contact us about availability.
Q: We would like to view prior to booking?
A: Please contact me if you would like to view the property, this will have to be at a time when we don’t have any guests.
Q: When will I receive confirmation of my booking?
A: Once a booking deposit has been paid you will receive an email confirmation.
Q: When is my deposit & balance due?
A: A booking is confirmed once a 30% deposit has been received. The balance is due 8 weeks or more before your stay.
Q: Whats included in the price?
A: Sole hire of Sheepwash Cottage, wifi, use of the extensive grounds, bed linen, towels, tea towels and some cleaning products. One small bag of charcoal for the BBQ.
Q: Do you include holiday insurance in the price?
A: Holiday insurance is not included. This should be provided by yourselves to cover cancellation, loss and damage of your property and loss and damage of our property also.
Q: Where can I find booking conditions?

Q: Can I cancel my booking?
A: Please see the terms and conditions.
Q: What are arrival & departure times?
A: Arrival time is 4pm. Departure time is 10.00am. It may be possible to vary this depending on bookings. Please contact us to find out.
Q: Where can I collect the keys?
A: The keys are kept in a key safe on arrival. Arrival details are sent out 1-2 weeks before arrival.
Q: How many car parking spaces are there?
A: We have parking in front of the cottage for up to 3 cars.
Q: Is your property suitable for wheelchairs?
A: The nature of the property may make it difficult as there are steps to the living room and all bedrooms.
Q: Is the property suitable for children?
A: Sheepwash Cottage is great for children, we can provide stair gates, travel cot, high chair and changing mat. We ask adults to supervise them outdoors in the fields with the wildlife ponds.
Q: Is there any infant equipment?
A: Yes, a travel cot and high chair can be provided on request. Plus we have two stair gates for your use.
Q: Do you allow pets?
A: Not at the moment.
Q: Can we have extra people than the 6 capacity?
A: This will depend on the request, a cot can be provided or an additional small child’s fold out bed.
Q: Do you have central heating?
A: The cottage is fully central heated by a wood pellet boiler.
Q: How big is the dining table?
A: The table can seat up to 6 guests.
Q: Is the kitchen fully equipped for large groups?
A: The kitchen is comprehensively equipped. Plenty of crockery, pots, pans, cafetieres and pyrex etc.
Q: Do you provide towels?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you have Wi-Fi?
A: Yes, although speed cannot be guaranteed.
Q: Are we allowed to set fireworks off?
A: Unfortunately due to farm animals and horses being within close proximity, fireworks are not permitted.
Q: Do you allow hen/stag groups?
A: We are in a tranquil, rural location and we need to respect our neighbour’s privacy and entitlement to peace and quiet. All night parties are not permitted. We can recommend accommodation nearby that does cater for stag and hen dos.
Q. What about Corona Virus?
We have employed The Welcome Team to undertake the housekeeping between guests. They have all undertaken intensive infection control measure training. In addition all laundry is hired in and professionally laundered. The keys will be available from a key safe. The cottage is self contained and separate from our house.
We have achieved the “Good to Go” standard set by Visit Britain.
Q: Where is the closest hospital?
A: The nearest hospital is Derby Royal, Derby for Accident and Emergency. The Whitworth Hospital in Darley Dale has a minor injuries clinic.
Q: Where is the closest airport, bus station and train station?
A: The closest airport is East Midlands, there are regular buses connecting Ashbourne and Wirksworth. The nearest train station is in Cromford.
Q: Are there any pubs locally?
A: The Miners Arms in the nearest pub, about 200 metres walk away.
Q: Where is the nearest shop?
A: Wirksworth is a thriving market town with a range of small shops there is also a co-op and petrol station. Ashbourne has a Marks and Spencer’s Food, Aldi, Sainsburys and many smaller shops in the Market Square. Online delivery is possible from most online supermarkets.
