Location
Sheepwash Cottage is perfect to get away from it all and yet be close to the Peak District, it is an excellent location for walking, running and cycling. A network of footpaths connect the cottage and the village to the High Peak Trail and beyond. There is also easy access to the Carsington Water circular route.
The High Peak Trail can be reached up a steep lane out of the centre of the village and offers cycling or running opportunities all the way to Tissington, or to Middleton, along what used to be an old railway line.
Carsington Water can be reached by footpath from the cottage, it has a visitor centre, cafe, watersports, cycle hire and playground.
Nearby Wirksworth has a heritage centre, several restaurants and cafes, a range of interesting and unique shops and a small independent cinema make it an ultimate experience.
Ashbourne with its lovely market square and lots of antique and other shops just can’t be missed.
The nearest shops can be found in Wirksworth just 2 miles away and the Miners Arms pub is 200 metres away from the cottage. We can arrange to receive your online shopping if you decide to order before you arrive.
